The vision of the Prorectorate for Graduate Studies (PROPG) is to be among the leading universities in Brazil in terms of graduate studies and recognized as a reference of excellence that provides students with a transforming experience for their professional and personal lives.

Among PROPG activities are:

        • elaborating policies for graduate studies at UFSC;
        • academic and financial managing of graduate programs;
        • recognizing master’s and doctoral degrees conferred by foreign institutions;
        • proposing internal regulations for graduate studies.

These activities are coordinated by the Prorector, with the assistance of an Administrative Coordination Office and a Financial Coordination Office.  The other offices giving support to PROPG are the (i) Program Monitoring Coordination Office,which manages graduate studies at Master’s and Doctoral levels (stricto sensu graduate degree); the (ii) Continuing Education Coordination Office, which manages specialization programs (lato sensu graduate degree) and training courses; and the (iii) Scholarships Coordination Office, which is in charge of all graduate scholarships.
